This is a hard sentiment to encourage these days. I used to line up outside Newbury Comics almost EVERY TUESDAY in college waiting for the new releases. Now in LA, Amoeba is pretty much as bad as going to Best Buy in terms of sterile experience and prices. Origami Vinyl in Silverlake is nice and all but it’s so small and narrow in it’s stock. Fingerprints in Long Beach is still my go to record store that gives me that Newbury Comics feel. This weekend they are celebrating their 19th anniversary with some discounts and stuff but the best part was I spent 2 hrs just looking around. I came away with a bunch of stuff I didn’t expect to and this Guided By Voices 2xLP is by far the best pickup. It’s already one of my most prized in my collection. About to start the second spin through now.
